Intimate waxing can be a mind field with so many different styles, types of wax and techniques. That is why I’ve put together a quick guide to make the process a little less intimidating.

Before your wax appointment:
– Ensure your hair has about 4 weeks growth (about 5mm in length), if any longer than this I can trim the hair before I start waxing.
– Avoid sunbeds or sun exposure for a week before your wax appointment.
– Please don’t worry if you are on your period, you don’t need to cancel your appointment, just pop a tampon in and I can work around the string. Please don’t apologise…it’s just part of life!!
– You can decide in advance on the style you want to go for by taking a look at the below guide that shows the difference between a standard bikini wax, a hollywood and a brazilian.

During the treatment:
– You will be given the choice to keep your knickers on or remove them, I can work either way and your comfort is my priority so I always let my clients lead on this decision.
– Pre-wax lotion will be appplied to clean the area whilst your desired style is discussed. Hair will be trimmed if needed.
– Using tea-tree creme wax and strip waxing technique your desired wax will be carried out quickly and efficiently. Tea-tree has natural antiseptic properties so works well on even the most sensitive skins.
– I will often ask you to help strecth the skin during the wax to ensure the thorough removal of all hair.
– For removal of hair around the anus and bum cheeks we can work with you all fours, on your back with your legs lifted into a froggy position or on your side in the fetal position, this decision will be made based on whatever is most comfortable for you.

After your wax:
– A soothing after-wax lotion will be applied to all areas to help reduce any inflamation, cool the area and remove any wax residue.
– For the first 48 hours after your wax, avoid sunbeds, sun exposure, hot baths, exercise, friciton, tight clothes and also do not apply fake-tan, makeup, perfumes, deodrants or lotions to the waxed areas.
– It is completely normal to feel a little sore and for the area to be red and bumpy for upto 48 hours after your wax. But please do contact me if you have any concerns. An at home antiseptic cream can be applied if needed.
– To avoid ingrown hairs exfoliate 3 times a week (from 48 hours after your wax).
– And don’t forget to book your next appointment for a months time to keep on top of your waxing and help reduce hair re-growth permanently.
